Westward Ho!

Access direct from Park - 0.2 mile

Westward Ho! beach has 3 miles of golden sand. This clean flat beach is recognised for being one of the safest in the country and has also been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag Award and Seaside Award for water quality, standard of facilities, beach management and general tidiness. No dogs allowed between 8am-8pm from 1st May-30th Sept

Instow

3 Miles

This is a sandy beach, however is not suitable for swimming and surfing as it is situated in the estuary. There can also be strong currents. It is widely used for walking, playing and flying kites. The beach is picturesque with quaint views of Appledore.

Clovelly

10 Miles

This shingle and rock beach has fairly difficult access. It is safe for swimming in the bay but be aware of restricted bathing areas due to currents and rocks. Facilities at Clovelly include parking, toilets and beach shop. Dogs are permitted on this beach.

Watermouth Cove

22.2 miles

This sandy beach is great for swimming and water sports. Facilities on this beach are limited but parking is available. Dogs are permitted on this beach. Disabled access is difficult onto this beach.

Sandymouth

25 miles

This beach has clean sand and lots of rock pools. There is a great deal of rocky headlands creating a dramatic backdrop.

Bude Crooklets & Summerleaze

26.9 miles

Summerleaze is the main beach in Bude. Crooklets is a smaller town beach than others within the Bude area, but equally as stunning and visitor friendly. Cliffs and rocks surround the beach. There are good facilities at these beaches including beach huts, large car park and cafes.

Widemouth Beach - Near Bude

This 2 mile beach is popular with surfers and families who enjoy fishing for sea creatures in the many rock pools. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards on Easter bank holiday, Weekends during April, daily from 5 May to 30 September and weekends during October. There is also a car park and beach shop. Dogs are allowed all year (Black Rock / South Beach only). On the rest of the beach dogs are banned from15th May to 30th September between 10am and 6pm.

Woody Bay

Wooded cliffs surround this sheltered beach. A zigzag path down to the beach makes access to the beach okay but the disadvantage is the walk back up! The beach is made up of pebbles, shingle and rock. The backdrop of the beach is breathtaking and is great

Lee Bay

24.9 Miles

This attractive bay is popular with rock climbers. The sandy, shingle beach is great for playing on and for sunbathing. Although swimming is permitted in the bay, swimmers should be aware of strong currents. Facilities here include parking and toilets.
